Baser Amer scored 19 points, Chris Newsome added 17, and the Meralco Bolts edged Mahindra Floodbuster 94-86 in the opening of 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Friday, March 17.
Former NBA veteran Alex Stepheson posted a double-double with 11 markers and 21 rebounds for the Bolts.
Mahindra’s comebacking import James White recorded double-double of his own, scoring a game-high 33 points to go with 16 rebounds.
Alex Mallari contributed 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for Floodbuster.
