Gab Dagangon had 14 points and 10 rebounds while GJ Ylagan and Jonathan Yuhico added 12 apiece and the Perpetual Altas outscored the CSB Blazers 69-65 in the first round of NCAA Season 93 men’s basketball tournament Tuesday (July 11) at San Juan Arena.
Kendrix Belgica led the Blazers with 16 points.
St. Benilde however put the match under protest as the Altas wore the wrong uniform in the match.
As reported by ABS-CBN, the NCAA on Tuesday night announced that the Perpetual win against St. Benilde has been overturned due to the uniform violation
"Any athlete whose playing uniform does not conform with the rules. First offense: Ineligible to participate in a given game/match.”
"Therefore it is ruled that the players of the University of Perpetual Help Sytem DALTA in the seniors division are deemed ineligible to player in their game against the College of Saint Benilde held July 11, 2017 at the Filoil Flying V Centre."
With the league's decision, Blazers gets the win over Altas.
