The Gilas Pilipinas suffered another heartbreaker against South Korea, 118-86, in the quarterfinal knockout round of the FIBA Asia Cup 2017 in Beirut, Lebanon on Wednesday, August 16.
The Koreans made 28 of 45 (62.2 percent) shots from two-point area and 16 of 21 (76.2 percent) from beyond the arc to defeat the Philippines.
Eight players also scored at least nine points for South Korea, led by Sekeun Oh with 22 points. Kim Sun Hyung addded 21 points. They will advance to the semifinals against Iran.
Terrence Romeo exploded in the second quarter with a 22 points to lead Gilas Pilipinas.
Philippines will face the Lebanon on Saturday, August 19, in the classification round for positions 5 to 8.
