Brownlee scores 37, locals step up as Ginebra blasts San Miguel in Game 4

The Barangay Ginebra came out for Game 4 knowing that they needed a win to tie the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals best-of-7 series.

That's exactly what they did. The Gin Kings came out firing on all cylinders in the first quarter and ended up with a dominant 130-100 victory over San Miguel Beermen on Friday night, August 3.

The Beermen struggled to shoot early on and the Ginebra took advantage of that as they put up a 17-0 start and never looked back.

Justin Brownlee, the Best Import of the Conference, led Ginebra with 37 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and three blocks.

The locals of Ginebra stepped up and contributed significantly to even the series at 2-2.

Greg Slaughter had 19 points, 11 in the first quarter, eight rebounds, and three blocks. Joe Devance added 18 points including two 3-pointers.

LA Tenorio finished with 17 points and 6 assists.

"We really had to come out aggressive. Basically, this is our do-or-die game against San Miguel. We can't afford to be down 3-1 against a powerhouse team. Good thing everyone came out aggressive," Tenorio said.

Arwind Santos paced the Beermen with 22 points, while June Mar Fajardo, the Best Player of the Conference, posted 15 points and 14 rebounds to go with three blocks.

Game 5 is on Sunday, 6:30 pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
