The University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons just snapped a 14-game losing streak against Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles. They finally defeated the Blue Eagles in six years, 56-52, on October 8 in the UAAP Season 79 basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Jet Manuel led UP with 15 points and five rebouds. Paul Desiderio had nine, while Gelo Vito, who sank a three-pointer late in the game to give UP a comportable 4-point lead, contributed seven.
Adrian Wong and Chibueze Ikeh tallied 10 points apiece for the Blue Eagles, who have lost two straight games.
