The De La Salle Green Archers defeated the Ateneo Blue Eagles 79-72, in game two of the UAAP Season 79 men's seniors basketball tournament finals in Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday (December 7).

The win is the 9th UAAP title for the Green Archers and second in five finals against longtime rival Blue Eagles. The DLSU won previous titles in 1989, 1990, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2007 and 2013.

Head coach Aldin Ayo, the first and so far the only Filipino basketball coach to win successive NCAA and UAAP championships, led the DLSU.

King Archer Jeron Teng, the Finals MVP for the second time in his UAAP career, had game-high 28 points on 60% shooting for La Salle.

Ben Mbala, the season MVP, contributed 18 points, 10 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks while Kib Montalbo added 9 markers.

Mike Nieto topped Ateneo with 18 points and three rebounds, while Adrian Wong and Raffy Verano got 10 in the loss.

Thirdy Ravena and Aaron Black limited to only 5 total points.
