Men's ice hockey team gives Philippines 15th gold medal in 2017 SEA Games

The Philippines men's ice hockey team defeated Thailand, 5-4, in the final day of the tournament to secure the country’s 15th gold medal in the 2017 SEA Games on Thursday, August 24 at the Empire City Mall in Damansara Perdana.

The Filipinos were undefeated in the event and finished the round robin competition with 11 points while Thailand took silver with nine points. Malaysia, with six points, grabbed the bronze by defeating Singapore 8-2.

Ice hockey, along with cricket, was played for the first time in the biennial multi-sport event.
