After a stints in the United States, Kobe Paras came back in the Philippines and has joined University of the Philippines to continue his collegiate career.
On Wednesday morning (July 11, 2018), UP Fighting Maroons social accounts confirmed that the young basketball star will join the Diliman-based basketball team.

Paras, a member of Gilas Cadets program, will have to serve a one-year residency before being eligible to suit up for UP in Season 82, alongside transferee Ricci Rivero from La Salle.
He will be teaming up with with Nigerian big man Bright Akhuetie and fellow Cadets Rivero, Paul Desiderio, Juan Gomez de Liano and Will Gozum.
The UP Fighting Maroons last won a championship in the UAAP men's basketball tournament in 1986, when they were led by Kobe's father, Benjie Paras.
Paras played for La Salle Greenhills before moving to the US and transferring to Cathedral High School in the 2013-2014 school year. He committed to UCLA in November 2015.
A year later, he moved to Creighton University and then to Cal State Northridge before ultimately, flying back to the Philippines earlier this year.
