Salas scores 37 points as Petro Gazz grabs a 3-1 win over BanKo Perlas

After winning 17 straight sets, Petro Gazz Angels dropped its first set of the 2019 PVL Reinforced Conference to BanKo Perlas Spikers on Wednesday, June 12.

The Angels managed to come back and grab the victory over the Perlas Spikers in fourth set, 25-23, 25-11, 22-25, 25-21.

Cuban reinforcement Wilma Salas tallied 35 attacks and 2 blocks for her 37 points to power Petro Gazz in their sixth straight victory.


Import Janisa Johnson from US poured in 24 points for Petro Gazz.

Veterans Nicole Tiamzon led BanKo Perlas with team-high 20 points on 16 spikes, 3 aces and a block with 17 excellent digs.

Angeline Marie Gervacio and Kathy Bersola finished with 13 and nine points, respectively. American import Kia Bright, who played for only two sets, scored only one point in the game.

The Perlas Spikers played with an all-Filipino lineup for most of the match, dropped to 2-4 record.
