Basilan Steel will look to close out the series on their home floor against the Davao Occidental Tigers in Game 2 on Wednesday.
The Steel escaped with a 74-72 win over the Tigers in Game 1 to take the series lead of the MPBL Lakan south division finals.
With the Tigers trailing by one, Jessie Collado made the game-sealing block on Billy Ray Robles before Allyn Bulanadi split his free throws to make it a two-point game, to help the Jumbo Plastic-backed squad steal the series opener.
Bulanadi led the Basilan with 15 points, nine rebounds, five steals, and three blocks.
Robles had 15 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists to lead the Davao Occidental.
