Javi Gomez de Liaño joins Japan B.League, signs with Ibaraki Robots

Javi Gomez de Liaño will play in Japan after signing with the Ibaraki Robots, a team that plays in the first division of the B.League.

Ibaraki Robots announced Monday that Gomez de Liano's contract will run for the B.League's 2021-22 season, starting on July 1.

Javi is a member of Gilas Pilipinas' pool. He averaged 10.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in 16.9 minutes in the 3 games he saw action when he last played in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers.

He will join his brother Juan in the Land of the Rising Sun, who will set to play with Earth Friends Tokyo Z in the second division of the B. League.

The Gomez de Liaño brothers are just two Filipinos going to play in Japan. Thirdy Ravena is with San-En, while older brother Kiefer is signed with Shiga.
