Gilas Women's star Jack Animam set to make waves in Australia with Ringwood Hawks

In a significant move for both herself and the Australian basketball scene, Gilas Women's star Jack Animam is poised to make her mark down under, signing with the Ringwood Hawks in the NBL1 South Conference.

The Filipino basketball sensation's journey to Australia follows a successful stint in China's WCBA, where she showcased her prowess on the court with Wuhan Shengfan.

Animam's statistics in China's top women's basketball league speak volumes about her talent and versatility. Averaging an impressive 11 points, 12 rebounds (ranking fifth in the league), 1 assist, and 2 steals per game, Animam proved herself as a force to be reckoned with. Her experience in China adds to her already impressive international resume, which includes stints in Taiwan, Serbia, and China.

Now, Animam sets her sights on Australia, eager to contribute to the success of the Ringwood Hawks. The Hawks, who finished the 2023 season in 7th place with a 13-9 record, will undoubtedly benefit from Animam's skills and leadership on the court.

Animam's return to Australia also holds special significance, especially after her stellar performance with the Gilas Pilipinas in the 2023 FIBA Women's Asia Cup held in Sydney. Leading the Philippines to a commendable 6th place finish, Animam showcased her all-around game, averaging 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 assist per game.

Excitement is palpable as the NBL1 South season kicks off for the Hawks, with Animam set to make her debut on Wednesday, 3rd April, when they take on the Kilsyth Cobras at 6:00 PM at Norwood SC.
