Ginebra prevails in OT to even series with San Miguel 1-1

The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel beat the San Miguel Beermen 124-118 on Sunday night (February 26) to even the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup Finals at one game apiece.

Scottie Thompson, who earned Player of the Game honors, nearly had a triple-double to help the Ginebra in Game 2 overtime win against Beermen. He finished with 18 points, 18 rebounds and eight assists.

Japeth Aguilar was the leading scorer for the crowd favorite with 23 points. Rookie Kevin Ferrer added 21 on 8-of-10 shooting.

Arwind Santos led the Beermen with 23 points and 15 rebounds.

Game 3 of the Finals is on Wednesday, March 1 at the Araneta Coliseum.
