The Philippines pencak silat team contributed one gold medal for Philippines after Dines Dumaan topped the Men’s Tanding-Class A (45-50kg) event in the 2017 SEA Games on Tuesday, August 29.
First-timer Dumaan beat Firman of Indonesia, 4-1, in the finals at the Juara Stadium-Bukit Kiara Sports Complex.
The Philippines, who now has 24 golds, last won a gold medal in pencak silat in the 2005 SEA Games in Manila, through Earl Buenviaje in the men’s Class F 70-75 kg category.
