Highlights: Gilas Pilipinas gives Philippines' 18th gold in SEA Games 2017

The Gilas Pilipinas dominated the Indonesia basketball team, 94-55, to win the men's basketball tournament on August 26, and gave the Philippines its 18th gold medal in the 2017 SEA Games.

Indonesia settled for the Silver Medal while Thailand secured the Bronze after beating Singapore, 65-55.

First time gold medalist Mike Tolomia, Kobe Paras, Raymar Jose and Christian Standhardinger led Philippines in the gold medal match.

Tolomia had 20 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the three-point area, Paras scored 14 markers, Jose chipped in 12 points, while Standhardinger added 11 points and 5 rebounds.


Kiefer Ravena, who claimed his fourth SEA Games gold, contributed seven points. Bobby Ray Parks, Jr. and Kevin Ferrer won their third gold, while Troy Rosario, Baser Amer, and Almond Vosotros snatched their second gold medals. Carl Cruz and Von Pessumal, also a first time gold medalist, completed this year’s Philippines men's national basketball team.

The team was coached by Jong Uichicho.
