John Wilson tallied a MPBL-record 44 points to power the San Juan Knights over the Pampanga Giant Lanterns in overtime, 102-97, Tuesday night, September 18 at the Angeles University Foundation Gymnasium.
Wilson, who shot 9-of-17 from the three-point area, including two treys in the extra period, had also nine rebounds.
The new league high for most points breaks the previous high of 41 set by Leomar Losentes last season.
Mike AyonAyon added 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Jhonard Clarito contributed 15 points, 12 rebounds for the Knights.
Dexter Maiquez led the Giant Lanterns with 24 points. Mike Juico, Reil Cervantes, and Levi Hernandez had 14 points each for the home team.
San Juan improved its win-loss record to 13-1, while Pampanga fell to 9-5.
