The 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference is set to witness a thrilling battle for the championship title. To understand the path to victory, here's a breakdown of the tournament format:
Preliminary Round: Every Team Gets a Shot
- All twelve participating teams will compete in a single round-robin elimination. This means each team will face every other team once.
- The FIVB Ranking System will be used to determine the standings throughout the preliminary round. This system considers factors like recent performance and historical results to create a fair ranking.
- The top four teams based on their FIVB Ranking System score at the end of the preliminary round will advance to the semifinals.
- Similar to the preliminary round, the semifinals will also follow a single round-robin elimination format. This ensures every team in the top four gets a chance to prove themselves against each other.
- Once again, the FIVB Ranking System will be used to rank the four teams after the semifinal round-robin.
- The top two ranked teams will have the honor of competing for the coveted gold medal in a best-of-three series.
- The teams ranked third and fourth will play a best-of-three series to determine who takes home the bronze medal.
- In case of a tie for the second-place ranking after the semifinals, a single knockout playoff match will be held to determine the team that advances to the gold medal match.
- The gold medal match will be a best-of-three series between the top two ranked teams from the semifinals. This format allows for a more intense and extended battle to determine the ultimate champion of the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
