San Miguel starts Terrific 12 with 90-76 victory over Shenzhen

The San Miguel Beermen started the East Asia Super League - The Terrific 12 2019 campaign with an 90-76 victory over Shenzhen Aviators at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion in Macau on Tuesday, September 17.

Import Dez Wells led the Beermen in his debut with 29 big points, seven rebounds, four assists, and five steals.


Terrence Romeo, who converted a three triples in the fourth period to help the San Miguel get the win, finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Chris Ross filled the stat sheets with 11 points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists, while Fil-German Christian Standhardinger came off the bench to score 11 markers.

The Beermen held the advantage and led by as much as 20 points, 33-13 in the second period, but the Aviators fought back and trimmed the lead to one, 61-62, with 9:40 remaining in the game.

However, San Miguel responded immediately with 18-6 run capped off by a back-to-back treys by Romeo to secure the victory.

Pierre Jackson had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Shenzhen in the loss.

The Beermen will return to action on Thursday to take on the defending champion Ryukyu Golden Kings of Japan.
