UP stuns Adamson with late comeback in overtime

The UP Fighting Maroons had to rally from a seven-point deficit in overtime to beat the Adamson Soaring Falcons, 83-82, on Sunday, September 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Bright Akhuetie converted two free throws with 2.8 seconds left to carry the Fighting Maroons to a overtime victory.

The reigning league MVP finished with a double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds for the Maroons, who bounced back from a 85-69 loss against UST on Sep. 7.


Kobe Paras debuted for UP with 20 points, six rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.

Valandre Chauca led Adamson with 21 points, three rebounds and three assists. Jerrick Ahanmisi was limited to seven points, after tallying 28 points in their 91-80 win over UE last Wednesday.
