Creamline opens title defense with a victory over Choco Mucho

Creamline Cool Smashers commenced their title defense in the 2023 PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference by triumphing over Choco Mucho Flying Titans in an electrifying match that had fans on the edge of their seats.

The Cool Smashers showcased their prowess despite facing the absence of key players, delivering a stellar performance to secure a well-deserved victory against their sister squad Choco Mucho. The final score stood at 25-18, 25-16, 24-26, 25-21 in favor of Creamline.


Stepping into the limelight were the resilient reserves, Bernadeth Pons and Michele Gumabao, who played vital roles in the victory. Pons proved instrumental, amassing an impressive 22 points from 21 attacks and a block, coupled with 11 crucial digs. Not to be outdone, Gumabao contributed significantly with 20 points, showcasing her prowess on the court.

Kyle Negrito, seamlessly fitting into her starting position, exhibited exceptional skills, tallying 23 excellent sets and adding three points to the scoreboard. Ella De Jesus displayed outstanding defensive prowess, amassing 17 excellent digs throughout the thrilling encounter.

On the opposing side, Sisi Rondina spearheaded the Flying Titans' offensive efforts, racking up 21 points, including 19 attacks, one block, and one ace. Despite the spirited performance, it wasn't enough to secure a victory for Choco Mucho.

Caitlyn Viray and Des Cheng played vital roles in Choco Mucho's valiant effort, contributing 12 and 11 points, respectively. However, Creamline's resilience and collective effort proved too much to overcome.

With this hard-fought victory, Creamline Cool Smashers have set the tone for their title defense, making a resounding statement about their determination to dominate the competition once again.
