PLDT's Majoy Baron emerged as the star of the night for the second consecutive game. She showcased her all-around prowess, scoring 13 points with a combination of eight attacks, two blocks, and three aces. This impressive performance earned her the Best Player of the Game honors once again, following her 11-point outing against the Farm Fresh Foxies before the league break.
Beyond Baron's stellar showing, the High Speed Hitters displayed a well-rounded offensive attack. Saavannah Davison chipped in 11 points while contributing significantly on defense with 23 excellent receptions. Erika Santos provided additional firepower with nine points, and playmaker Kim Fajardo orchestrated the offense with 14 excellent sets while adding eight points herself.
The Akari Chargers, on the other hand, succumbed to their fifth loss in the season, dropping their win-loss record to 2-5. This defeat significantly hinders their chances of securing a coveted spot in the semifinals, where only the top four teams will advance.
PLDT remains focused on solidifying their position in the semifinals. Their next challenge comes on Tuesday, April 9, where they face Strong Group Athletics at the same Pasig venue.
Akari, despite the setback, aims to climb back into contention. They will return to action on Saturday, April 6, for a crucial matchup against Galeries Tower at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.
