National University (NU) Bulldogs showed incredible might and composure in a thrilling encounter that ultimately saw them outlast De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers in a nail-biting 80-77 overtime victory, Sunday at Mall of Asia Arena.
This victory marked the Bulldogs' second consecutive win, elevating their record to an impressive 4-1 in the team standings.
The hero of the day was Patrick Yu, whose clutch performance proved pivotal for NU. He scored five unanswered points, a three-pointer and a floater, granting the Bulldogs a crucial 74-69 lead with less than two minutes remaining in overtime.
Jake Figueroa played a crucial role for NU, leading the team with 15 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Jolo Manansala chipped in 13 points, while Yu's 12 markers, including those critical late-game points.
On the other side of the court, Kevin Quiambao showcased a stellar performance for the Green Archers, delivering 25 points, nine rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block. However, his exceptional effort wasn't enough to secure the win, as the Green Archers now grapple with their second defeat in five contests.
