Nxled Chameleons shine in PVL debut, sweep gerflor defenders

In a spectacular debut in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Second All-Filipino Conference, the Nxled Chameleons swept the Gerflor Defenders, securing a decisive victory with a scoreline of 25-14, 25-18, 25-19. The thrilling match took place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, October 15.


Despite being newcomers to the league, the Chameleons showcased remarkable cohesion and a well-rounded attack strategy, leaving their mark early in their PVL campaign.

Lycha Ebon led the charge for the Chameleons, delivering an outstanding performance with 14 points, comprised of 12 successful attacks and two critical blocks. Adding to the firepower, Jho Maraguinot contributed 11 points to the game. May Luna also played a significant role with seven points, while Judith Abil added six points, including two from her service game.

The Chameleons dominated with 42 successful attacks compared to the Defenders' 30, and their defensive prowess was evident with nine blocks and six aces. Nxled capitalized on Gerflor's erratic plays, amassing 18 points from their opponent's errors.

In contrast, the Gerflor Defenders struggled to find their rhythm, and no player managed to reach double-digit scoring. Jenny Gaviola led the Defenders with nine points, but it wasn't enough to secure a win.

Nxled Chameleons' impressive debut win set the stage for an exciting campaign in the PVL's Second All-Filipino Conference, as they aim to make a lasting impact in the league.
