Choco Mucho soars to top spot, eliminates Capital1 in straight sets

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans continued their dominant run in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference, crushing the Capital1 Solar Spikers in straight sets (25-15, 25-16, 25-21) on Saturday at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex.

This victory not only propels them to the top spot in the team standings but also extinguishes Capital1's playoff hopes.

Sisi Rondina, the driving force behind Choco Mucho's success, delivered an outstanding performance, contributing 13 points highlighted by 12 powerful attacks and a crucial block. Her leadership on the court propelled the Flying Titans to claim the top spot in the standings provisionally, ahead of Creamline and PLDT.

Rondina's stellar performance was complemented by Isa Molde, who provided ample support with nine markers, contributing to the team's overall dominance on the court.

On the other hand, the defeat marked the end of Capital1 Solar Spikers' playoff chase, as they now hold a 1-7 record in the tournament. Despite the efforts of Jorelle Singh and Jannine Navarro, who managed to score 13 and 11 points respectively, Capital1 struggled to match the Flying Titans' intensity.

Looking ahead, Choco Mucho aims to extend its winning streak to four as they face Strong Group Athletics on April 13, Saturday, at the PhilSports Arena. Meanwhile, Capital1 seeks to bounce back from their defeat when they take on Akari on April 11, Thursday, in another thrilling matchup also at the PhilSports Arena.
